What are you watching? Ben Mullinkosson of "Don't Be A Dick About It"
We first heard of Ben Mullinkosson after giving his film “Don’t Be A Dick About It” a standing ovation at Sheffield Doc/Fest 2019, one of our favourites of that year’s edition. Since then, his remarkable talent has continued to beam through his work, resulting in features on National Geographic and Nowness among others.
Now, he’s working on a hybrid film set in Chengdu, China, about “getting fucked up, falling in love, throwing up and learning the meaning of life” starring the friends he’s made while partying and skateboarding in the city. To give the industry an idea of what he’s working on, Ben released the short film “Double Sexy” on Nowness, which you can watch here for free.
The last documentary Ben saw was “Bitter Money” by Wang Bing, his favourite hybrid film is “All These Sleepless Nights” and he was inspired to become a documentary filmmaker by the cinematic “Last Train Home”.
