Negro Terror
Negro Terror are that rare thing, a black punk band. What's more, they're from Memphis, Tennessee, the deep South.
This is a sensitive cinematic and musical portrait of the band’s role in the vibrant and eclectic underground music community of their city. You'll meet the incredibly talented Omar, Rico and Ra'id who, when they're not playing at weddings and supporting rock bands, come together to champion the history, music, and various politics of their beloved hometown of Memphis.
Negro Terror are far more than just another hardcore punk band with a provocative name.
The film's official online release will be in Spring 2019, like the page to be kept updated. The band is also currently on tour doing live-score performance screenings. The next showing is on January 12th in Nashville, TN, follow the link below for tickets.
A real pleasure to watch and a big shout out to Southern Documentary Project for getting in touch, submitting the film and granting Documentary Weekly an early screening 🙌.
