Fipadoc's 2025 Award Winners !

This year Doc Weekly was in Biarritz attending Fipadoc, France’s largest international documentary film festival and one of the most important European meetings for professionals and audiences alike. This year’s edition boasted nearly 180 films from around the world across 5 major competitions including two Oscar nominees for Best Documentary Feature !

Grand Prix International Documentary : Black Box Diaries by Shiori Itô

Both of those were rewarded in their respective categories, the first being Shiori Itô’s Black Box Diaries which won the Grand Prix International Documentary ! Grand Prix French Documentary : Bosco Grande by de Giuseppe Schillaci

Grand Prix Musical Documentary : Soundtrack To A Coup d’Etat by Johan Gimonprez

The second Oscar-nominated film featured at Fipadoc and one that we were lucky enough to catch the screening of, a masterpiece in archive documentary and sound design.

Grand Prix Impact Documentary : Yintah by Jennifer Wickham, Brenda Michell et Michael Toledano

INA-madelen Audience Award : Golo & Ritchie by Martin Fougerol et Ahmed Hamidi

This award was voted for by the attending Biarritz audience.

Sacem Award for Original Score : The Watchman by Lou du Pontavice and Victoire Bonin Grais

Human Rights in Motion Award : Tata by Lina Vdovîi et Radu Ciorniciuc

Young Europeans Award : Murmuring Hearts by Vytautas Puidokas

Short Film Documentary Award : Exit Through The Cuckoo’s Nest by Nicola Ilić

New Talent Award : Confession by Rebeka Bizubová

Tënk Award : May It Last by Louise Chauchat

Coup de cœurs dans les murs Award : Red Shadow Over The White House by Antoine Vitkine
