Fipadoc's 2026 Award Winners !
Doc Weekly was back in Biarritz this year for Fipadoc, France’s largest international documentary film festival and one of the most important European meetings for professionals and audiences alike. Grand Prix International Documentary : Redlight to Limelight by Bipuljit Basu
Grand Prix French Documentary : La Grève by Gabrielle Stemmer
This was one of our favourite films that we saw during the festival. A poetic and lyrical use of archive that delivers a radical feminist message to dazzling and unscrupulous effect.
Grand Prix Musical Documentary : Nous, l'orchestre de Paris by Philippe Béziat
Grand Prix Impact Documentary : An Eye for an Eye by Tanaz Eshaghian, Farzad Jafari
INA-madelen Audience Award : L’Extraordinaire Voyage de Mister Jack by Sarah Moon HOWE
This award was voted for by the attending Biarritz audience.
Sacem Award for Original Score : Grey Zone by Liza Guillamot
Another one of our favourites. A fascinating insight into the pitfalls of the french police training scheme, a marcel of editing and an electrifying soundscape. Look out for an interview with director Liza Guillamot coming soon !
